Food & Nutrition

Nutrition is as diverse as people themselves. The range of foods on offer is therefore aimed at increasingly differentiated consumer groups.

Functional foods such as dietary supplements, fortified foods and special foods (‘dietetic foods’) play a major role in this. There are therefore foods specifically targeted at infants and young children, people who want to lose weight, athletes or patients with a specific illness, disorder or complaint, balanced diets and many more. The range is also growing for special diets such as vegan or vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free or low in FODMAP. Further differentiation is resulting from current research in the field of personalised nutrition.

You want to stand out from the crowd: the challenge here is to position your products successfully and sustainably. Choosing the right food category is the first important step. This then determines the further regulatory requirements for the use of nutrients and functional ingredients, compliance with maximum quantities and recipe specifications, and the appropriate implementation of special regulations on labelling and information.
